About Robin Blaser
Robin Francis Blaser (1925-2009) was an American-born Canadian poet, playwright, essayist, and translator, born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Idaho. A key figure in the San Francisco Renaissance alongside Jack Spicer and Robert Duncan, he moved to Canada in 1966 to teach at Simon Fraser University, where he became Professor Emeritus, and edited Spicer's Collected Books while authoring notable works like The Holy Forest, winner of the 2008 Griffin Poetry Prize. He received the Order of Canada in 2005 and a Lifetime Recognition Award from the Griffin Trust in 2006.
