Robert Anthony Stone (1937–2015) was an American novelist, journalist, and college professor, best known for his action-adventure novels infused with political themes and dark humor, often set amid social upheavals like the Vietnam War and Central American turmoil. He won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1975 for Dog Soldiers, was a five-time finalist for the award, and twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
