About Robert N. Butler
Robert N. Butler (1927-2010) was an American physician, psychiatrist, gerontologist, and author renowned for pioneering research on aging. He coined the term "ageism," served as the first director of the National Institute on Aging (1975-1982), and authored the Pulitzer Prize-winning book Why Survive? Being Old in America (1975), along with other notable works like The Longevity Prescription.
