Robert Lowell

Robert Lowell (1917-1977) was an American poet born into a prominent Boston Brahmin family. He won Pulitzer Prizes for Lord Weary's Castle (1947) and The Dolphin (1974), and pioneered confessional poetry with Life Studies (1959), which won the National Book Award.
