Robert Allan Caro, born October 30, 1935, is an American journalist and author renowned for his exhaustive biographies of political figures Robert Moses and Lyndon B. Johnson. His seminal work, The Power Broker (1974), a Pulitzer Prize-winning study of Moses's exercise of power in shaping New York, is considered a modern classic, while his multi-volume The Years of Lyndon Johnson series (1982–2012) has earned him two Pulitzer Prizes and numerous other accolades, including the National Humanities Medal.
