Rita Bullwinkel

Rita Bullwinkel is an American author born in the 1980s or 1990s in a suburb of San Francisco. She is best known for her debut novel Headshot (2024), a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and longlisted for the Booker Prize, and her short story collection Belly Up (2018), which won a Whiting Award in 2022. She teaches creative writing at the University of San Francisco and serves as editor of McSweeney's Quarterly.
