Richard Bausch

Richard Bausch (born 1945) is an American fiction writer renowned for his novels and short stories exploring family life, fear, love, and historical themes. Notable works include the novels Peace (2008), Before, During, After (2014), and Playhouse (2023), along with short story collections like Living in the Weather of the World (2017) and The Stories of Richard Bausch (2003). He has received the PEN/Malamud Award, Rea Award for short fiction, Guggenheim Fellowship, and Dayton Literary Peace Prize, and serves as a professor in the Writing Program at Chapman University.
