Rebecca Lee Kunz

Rebecca Lee Kunz is a Cherokee Nation citizen, painter, and illustrator based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She won the 2025 Caldecott Medal for *Chooch Helped*, written by Andrea L. Rogers—her debut children's book. Working with collage, painting, and line work, her illustrations draw on tribal iconography and earthy Oklahoma landscapes.
