About Rajeev Balasubramanyam
Rajeev Balasubramanyam (born 1974) is a British novelist born in Lancashire, England, to Indian parents from Bangalore who were Fulbright Scholars; he spent part of his childhood in the United States. Educated at Oxford (PPE), Cambridge (Development Studies), and with a PhD from Lancaster University, he has lived in places including London, Kathmandu, Berlin, and Hong Kong, where he was a Research Scholar. Notable works include In Beautiful Disguises (2000, Betty Trask Prize winner), The Dreamer (2010), Starstruck (2016), and Professor Chandra Follows His Bliss (2019, translated into multiple languages); he also writes journalism for outlets like the London Review of Books and leads meditation workshops.
