About Rachel Seiffert

Rachel Seiffert (born 1971) is a British novelist and short story writer raised bilingually by German and Australian parents in Oxford. com. Her debut novel The Dark Room (2001) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and won the LA Times First Fiction Prize and Betty Trask Award, with later works like A Boy in Winter (2017) longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction. Named one of Granta's Best of Young British Novelists in 2003, she explores how historical upheavals affect ordinary lives and has received the E.M. Forster Award in 2011.Rachel Seiffert
