About Pierre Molaine

Pierre Molaine, pseudonym of Léopold Faure, was a French writer and military officer born in 1906 in Voiron, France. He had a distinguished career as a senior officer in the French army, including service in tank combat units and participation in the Resistance during World War II, before becoming a literature professor in 1958. Notable works include the novels Les Orgues de l'enfer (Prix Renaudot 1950), Samson a soif, and Le Sang, often exploring themes of war and violence; several were banned under German occupation.
