About Philippe Hériat

Philippe Hériat (born Raymond Gérard Payelle; 1898–1971) was a French novelist, playwright, and actor who began his career in silent films before achieving literary success. French. He won the Prix Renaudot in 1931 for L'Innocent, the Prix Goncourt in 1939 for Les Enfants gâtés, and the Grand Prix du roman de l'Académie française in 1947 for Famille Boussardel, part of his renowned Les Boussardel family saga. French. He was elected to the Académie Goncourt in 1949, serving until his death.
