About Peter Reading
Peter Reading (1946–2011) was an English poet renowned for his 26 collections of anti-romantic, satirical verse exploring nature and classical metres. His most notable works include Diplopic (1983, Dylan Thomas Award winner) and Stet (1986, Whitbread Poetry Award winner), with Work in Regress (1997) shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize. He received major accolades such as the Cholmondeley Award (1978) and Lannan Literary Awards for Poetry (1990, 2004), and was the only British poet to win the latter twice.
