Peter Ackroyd

Peter Ackroyd (born October 5, 1949) is a British author renowned for his innovative novels blending history and fiction, such as Hawksmoor (1985, winner of the Whitbread Novel Award and Guardian Fiction Prize), Chatterton (1987, Booker shortlist), and London: The Biography (2000, South Bank Show Award), as well as acclaimed biographies of figures like T.S. Eliot (Whitbread Biography Award), Charles Dickens, William Blake, and Thomas More (James Tait Black Memorial Prize).
