About Pearl S. Buck
Pearl S. Buck (1892–1973) was an American author renowned for her novels depicting life in China, most notably The Good Earth, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1932 and became a bestseller. In 1938, she became the first American woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature for her epic descriptions of peasant life in China and biographical masterpieces of her parents.
