Pauline Kael

Pauline Kael (1919-2001) was an American film critic who wrote for The New Yorker from 1968 to 1991, known for her witty, opinionated reviews that influenced American cinema. Her notable works include the bestseller I Lost It at the Movies (1965) and Deeper into Movies (1973), which won the National Book Award, along with essays like "Raising Kane." She received awards such as the George Polk Award (1970) and Women in Film Crystal Award (1978).
