About Paula Jacques

Paula Jacques (born Paula Abadi, 1949) is a French novelist, journalist, and radio host, born in Cairo, Egypt, whose works focus on the lives of Egyptian Jews during the mid-20th century, reflecting postcolonial themes. She won the prestigious Prix Femina in 1991 for her novel Déborah et les anges dissipés, among her notable works including Lumière de l’œil (1980) and Un Baiser froid comme la lune (1983). She has also been a prominent figure on France Inter, hosting Cosmopolitaine.
