Paula Hawkins is a British author born on August 26, 1972, in Harare, Zimbabwe, best known for her #1 bestselling psychological thrillers including The Girl on the Train (2015), which sold over 23 million copies worldwide and was adapted into a film starring Emily Blunt, Into the Water (2017), and A Slow Fire Burning (2021). She worked as a journalist for 15 years before achieving commercial success with her debut thriller. Her works have earned nominations such as Thriller of the Year at the British Book Awards and recognition as one of BBC's 100 Women.
