About Paul Quarrington
Paul Quarrington (1953-2010) was a prolific Canadian novelist, screenwriter, playwright, musician, and educator best known for his humorous yet poignant novels such as Whale Music, which won the 1989 Governor General's Award for Fiction, and King Leary, recipient of the 1988 Stephen Leacock Award for Humour and 2008 Canada Reads champion. His works often featured flawed antiheroes seeking redemption, and he received additional honors including the 2009 Matt Cohen Prize for lifetime contribution to Canadian literature and a Genie Award for Best Original Screenplay for Perfectly Normal.
