About Paul J. McAuley
Paul J. McAuley (born 1955) is a British botanist and prolific science fiction author known for hard science fiction exploring biotechnology, nanotechnology, space travel, and alternate histories. Notable works include Four Hundred Billion Stars, Fairyland, Red Dust, Pasquale's Angel, and The Quiet War. He has won the Philip K. Dick Award (1989), Arthur C. Clarke Award (1996), John W.
