About Paul Auster
Paul Auster was an American novelist, poet, translator, and filmmaker born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1947. He studied comparative literature at Columbia University. His New York Trilogy (1985–1986) established him as a major postmodern voice. Other celebrated novels include The Music of Chance (1990), Timbuktu (1999), and The Brooklyn Follies (2005). 4 3 2 1 (2017) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Auster died in April 2024.
