About Patrick Anderson
Patrick John MacAllister Anderson (1915–1979) was an English-born Canadian poet known for his vivid, image-rich poetry influenced by Dylan Thomas, W.H. Auden, and T.S. Eliot, often capturing Canadian landscapes. Notable works include The White Centre (1946), The Colour as Naked (1953), Search Me (1957 autobiography), and Return to Canada (1977). He co-founded the influential Preview magazine, taught at McGill University, and later wrote memoirs and travel books after leaving Canada.
