Patricia Wrightson

Patricia Wrightson (1921–2010) was an Australian author renowned for her children's books that incorporated Australian Aboriginal mythology in a magic realism style. Kids. She won the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1986 and multiple Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year awards for works including The Nargun and the Stars (1974), The Ice Is Coming (1978), and A Little Fear (1984). Born in New South Wales, she worked as an editor and administrator before her acclaimed literary career.
