Patrice Ann "Pat" Murphy (born March 9, 1955) is an American author of science fiction and fantasy novels and short stories, best known for her Nebula Award-winning novel The Falling Woman (1986) and novelette "Rachel in Love" (1987), as well as the Philip K. Dick Award-winning collection Points of Departure (1990) and World Fantasy Award-winning novella "Bones" (1990). She co-founded the James Tiptree, Jr. Award in 1991 and has contributed to science education through nonfiction works and her time at the Exploratorium. PatMurphy.net Awards
