About Owen King

Owen King is an American author and filmmaker, born in 1977. He is the younger son of Stephen King and Tabitha King, and the brother of Joe Hill. King studied at Vassar College and received his MFA from Columbia University. His debut novel Double Feature (2013) received warm critical notices for its sharp wit and its portrait of a young filmmaker navigating ambition, failure, and family. King is also the co-author, with his father Stephen King, of the novel Sleeping Beauties (2017), a speculative horror novel about a mysterious epidemic that causes women to fall into an unbreakable sleep. The novel was widely praised for its imagination and social commentary and won the Goodreads Choice Award for Horror in 2017. King has also written short fiction and has been involved in film and television projects. As a writer, King brings a literary sensibility and dark comedic streak to his fiction, frequently exploring themes of family, ambition, and the uncanny. He lives in New York.
