About Ottessa Moshfegh

Ottessa Moshfegh is an American novelist and short story writer of Croatian and Iranian heritage, born in Boston in 1981. She studied at Barnard College and Brown University. Her novella McGlue (2014) won the Fence Modern Prize. Eileen (2015) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2016 and the Pen/Faulkner Award, and won the PEN/Hemingway Award. My Year of Rest and Relaxation (2018) became a cult classic. Death in Her Hands (2020) and Lapvona (2022) followed. Moshfegh lives in Los Angeles.
