Oliver La Farge

Oliver Hazard Perry La Farge II (1901-1963) was an American writer and anthropologist renowned for his works on Native American culture, particularly the Navajo. His debut novel Laughing Boy (1929), a poignant tale of cultural clash between Navajo traditions and white society, won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1930. He advocated for Native American rights as president of the Association on American Indian Affairs and authored other notable works like The Enemy Gods and Sparks Fly Upward.
