About Okeychukwu Nzelu

Okechukwu Nzelu is a British-Nigerian novelist and poet born in 1988 in Withington, Manchester. His debut novel, The Private Joys of Nnenna Maloney (2019), won the Betty Trask Award and was shortlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize and Polari First Book Prize; his second, Here Again Now (2022), was shortlisted for the Encore Award. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2024 and lectures in Creative Writing at Lancaster University.
