About NoViolet Bulawayo

NoViolet Bulawayo (Elizabeth Zandile Tshele) is a Zimbabwean-American novelist born in Tsholotsho, Zimbabwe, in 1981. She studied at Texas A&M University and earned an MFA from Cornell University. Her debut novel We Need New Names (2013) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and won the PEN/Hemingway Award. Glory (2022) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2022. Bulawayo is an assistant professor at Stanford University.
