Norman Rush

Norman Rush (born October 24, 1933) is an American writer known for his introspective novels and short stories often set in Botswana during the 1980s, drawing from his experience as Peace Corps co-director there with his wife Elsa from 1978 to 1983. His notable works include the short story collection Whites (1986, Pulitzer finalist), the National Book Award-winning novel Mating (1991), Mortals (2003), and Subtle Bodies (2013); he also received the 1992 Irish Times/Aer Lingus International Fiction Prize for Mating. He resides in Rockland County, New York.
