About Norman Maclean

Norman Maclean (1902-1990) was an American author and longtime University of Chicago English professor best known for his novella collection A River Runs Through It and Other Stories (1976), a semi-autobiographical work about family and fly-fishing in Montana that was adapted into an acclaimed film by Robert Redford and nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and Young Men and Fire (1992), which posthumously won the National Book Critics Circle Award.
