Nikole Hannah Jones

Nikole Hannah-Jones (born 1976) is an American investigative journalist renowned for her coverage of civil rights, racial injustice, and school segregation. She created The 1619 Project for The New York Times Magazine, a landmark work reframing American history around slavery's legacy, which earned her the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary and expanded into a bestselling book and Emmy-winning Hulu docuseries. Other major achievements include the 2017 MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship, two George Polk Awards, and serving as the Knight Chair in Race and Journalism at Howard University.
