Nathan Alan Davis is an American playwright born around 1980 in Rockford, Illinois. He earned degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Indiana University Bloomington, and trained at Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program. His notable works include Nat Turner in Jerusalem, The Refuge Plays, Dontrell Who Kissed the Sea, and others; major achievements comprise the Windham-Campbell Prize (2021), Steinberg Playwright Award (2020), and Whiting Award in Drama (2018).
