About Nadifa Mohamed

Nadifa Mohamed is a British-Somali novelist born in Hargeisa, Somalia, in 1981. She moved to the United Kingdom at the age of four. She studied history and politics at Oxford University. Her debut novel Black Mamba Boy (2010) was longlisted for the Orange Prize and the Guardian First Book Award. The Orchard of Lost Souls (2013) was shortlisted for the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. The Fortune Men (2021) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2021. Mohamed is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
