About Molly Gloss

Molly Gloss (born 1944) is an American science fiction and historical fiction author raised in rural Oregon who began writing seriously after becoming a mother. She lives in Portland, Oregon, and was close friends with Ursula K. Le Guin, while teaching writing at Portland State University and Pacific University's MFA program. Her works have earned the Whiting Writers' Award, James Tiptree Jr. Award for Wild Life, PEN/Faulkner finalist for The Jump-Off Creek, and the 2021 C.E.S. Wood Award for her enduring career.
