About Mitchell S. Jackson
Mitchell S. Jackson is an American writer born in Portland, Oregon, and raised by a single mother. He was arrested on drug charges in his youth, served time in prison where he discovered literature, and later earned an M.A. from Portland State University and an M.F.A. from New York University. He is a professor at Arizona State University, a Pulitzer Prize winner in Feature Writing, and author of novels and nonfiction exploring Black American experiences.
