Michael R. Jackson

Michael R. Jackson (born 1981) is an American playwright, composer, and lyricist originally from Detroit. He is best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning musical A Strange Loop (2020), which also won the Tony Award for Best Musical (2022), along with other works like White Girl in Danger and Teeth. Jackson holds BFAs and MFAs from NYU Tisch in playwriting and musical theatre writing, and has received numerous awards including the Whiting Award and Windham-Campbell Literature Prize.
