Mia Chung

Mia Chung is an American playwright who grew up in San Diego with South Korean immigrant parents, shaping her interest in Korean themes and power dynamics. She earned a BA from Yale, an MPhil from Trinity College Dublin, and an MFA from Brown University, where her thesis play evolved into her acclaimed work You for Me for You. A 2023 Whiting Award recipient and member of New Dramatists, her plays have premiered at venues like Woolly Mammoth, Royal Court Theatre, and Playwrights Horizons, often blending magical realism with explorations of identity, oppression, and family.
