About Maurice Constantin-Weyer

Maurice Constantin-Weyer (1881-1964) was a French novelist, biographer, and essayist best known for his adventure novels inspired by his decade living in Manitoba, Canada. His most notable work, Un homme se penche sur son passé (1928, tr. A Man Scans His Past), won the prestigious Prix Goncourt, and other key books include La Bourrasque (1925), a fictionalized life of Louis Riel. A World War I veteran decorated for bravery, he authored over 50 books depicting the Canadian West and North.
