About Matt Haig

Matt Haig is a British author born in Sheffield in 1975. He studied English and sociology at the University of Hull. He has published both fiction and nonfiction. Notes on a Nervous Planet (2018) and Reasons to Stay Alive (2015) were bestselling memoirs about mental health. The Midnight Library (2020) became a global bestseller and was shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2021. Haig's work combines magical realism with emotional honesty.
