Masuo Ikeda

Masuo Ikeda (1934-1997) was a Japanese multidisciplinary artist renowned as a painter, printmaker, novelist, and film director. He achieved literary prominence by winning the prestigious Akutagawa Prize for his novel Offering in the Aegean (Ēgekai ni sasagu), and his works often explored themes of eros and surrealism. Ikeda's international acclaim included solo exhibitions at MoMA New York and multiple grand prizes at global print biennales.
