About Mary Caroline Moorman
Mary Caroline Moorman (1905-1994) was a British biographer and historian best known for her two-volume biography of William Wordsworth (1957 and 1966), the second volume of which won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Born Mary Caroline Trevelyan, daughter of historian G. M. Trevelyan, she studied at Somerville College, Oxford, married Anglican Bishop John Moorman, and chaired the Wordsworth Trust.
