Marwa Helal

Marwa Helal was born in Al Mansurah, Egypt and immigrated to the United States as a child. She is the author of poetry collections Ante body (Nightboat Books, 2022), a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and Invasive species (Nightboat Books, 2019). Helal has received a Whiting Award, fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts and Cave Canem, and teaches in the MFA Writing Program at Columbia University.Marwa Helal Bio, Poets.org.
