Mario Pomilio

Mario Pomilio (1921-1990) was an Italian novelist, essayist, journalist, and academic whose works often explored metaphysical and religious themes alongside political engagement. His most notable novels include Il quinto evangelio (1975), La compromissione (1965), and Il Natale del 1833 (1983), the latter earning him Italy's prestigious Premio Strega award.
