Maria de la Pau Janer (born January 13, 1966, in Majorca, Spain) is a Spanish novelist and short story writer who works in both Spanish and Catalan. She holds a PhD from the University of the Balearic Islands and is renowned for novels such as Pasiones romanas (2005, Premio Planeta), Lola (1999, Premi Ramon Llull), Màrmara (1993, Premi Prudenci Bertrana), and others including L'hora dels eclipsis (1989, Premi Andròmina) and Natura d'anguila (1995, Premi Carlemany).
