About Margot Bennett

Margot Bennett (1912–1980) was a Scottish-born author and screenwriter best known for her crime and thriller novels from the 1940s and 1950s, including the award-winning Someone from the Past (1958 Gold Dagger) and The Man Who Didn't Fly (1955, shortlisted for Gold Dagger and Edgar nominee). She also wrote science fiction like The Long Way Back (1955) and non-fiction, worked as a copywriter and nurse in the Spanish Civil War, and lived in London later in life.
