Margaret Clapp

Margaret Antoinette Clapp (1910-1974) was an American author, scholar, and educator best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning biography Forgotten First Citizen: John Bigelow (1947), which earned the 1948 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography.com She also edited The Modern University (1950) and served as president of Wellesley College from 1949 to 1966, significantly expanding its resources and advocating for women's careers.
