Marcel Arland

Marcel Arland (1899–1986) was a French novelist, literary critic, and journalist who won the prestigious Prix Goncourt for his novel L'Ordre in 1929 and was elected to the Académie Française in 1968. He directed the influential Nouvelle Revue Française from 1968 to 1977 and produced notable works such as Terres étrangères (1923), Zélie dans le désert (1944), and La Grâce d’écrire (1955). His career also included co-founding the dadaist newspaper Aventure and extensive literary essays.
