About Maki Kashimada

Maki Kashimada (born 1976) is a Japanese writer known for her avant-garde literary fiction. She won the Bungei Prize for her debut novel Two (1998), the Mishima Yukio Prize for Love at Six Thousand Degrees (2005), the Noma Literary Prize for Picardy Third (2007), and the Akutagawa Prize for Touring the Land of the Dead (2012), among other accolades. Notable works in English include Touring the Land of the Dead and Love at Six Thousand Degrees.
