Maggie Doherty is an American writer, literary critic, and visiting lecturer in creative writing at Harvard University, where she earned her PhD in English in 2015 after a BA from Yale in 2007. She is the author of the acclaimed group biography The Equivalents: A Story of Art, Female Friendship, and Liberation in the 1960s (2020), which won the Marfield Prize for Arts Writing and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Biography; her essays, reviews, and profiles have appeared in The New Yorker, New York Times, New York Review of Books, and The Nation.
